A set that turns hand-washing into a game: two pencil-shaped soaps — one with a pink and one with a blue “eraser” — a soap with a penguin in a red scarf and a ceramic soap dish shaped like a ladybird. We make even the kids' soaps just like all the others: by the cold process, with at least 30 days of curing on the shelf. Hygiene dressed up as a toyshop.
How do you get a child to the sink without a chase?
Ownership. Their own penguin soap and their own ladybird for the soap to live on turn hygiene into a ritual the child keeps up all by themselves — and the pencils are cheerful enough to make hand-washing worthwhile even without being asked. The ladybird has holes in its wing cases through which water drains away, so the soap dries out between washes and lasts longer.
We cut and finish the shapes by hand, so even from the same mould, neither the penguins nor the pencils come out identical to the millimetre. We colour mostly with mineral pigments, and the glycerine that forms naturally during saponification stays in the soaps. Every bar is a little different. We admit it on purpose — with kids' soaps, that is actually half the fun.
The set suits a birthday or the start of nursery or school — pencils are particularly eloquent in September — or makes a little something from grandparents that won't get lost among the soft toys. And when the soap is used up, the ladybird stays. That one doesn't wash away so easily.
The soaps can also be bought separately; you will find more dish shapes and designs among our soap dishes and the other ready-made bundles among our gift sets. After washing, the soap goes back on the ladybird — a bar that dries out between washes lasts longer, even in busy little hands.
