Hands that have survived a winter outdoors and elbows that make themselves felt all year round — lemon balm whipped body butter is made exactly for them. We whipped shea and cocoa butter with almond and argan oil into a delicate foam that melts away on the skin and leaves behind a fresh herbal scent with a hint of lemon.
Where does the whipped butter get its scent?
From the leaves. Lemon balm is infused at low temperatures directly in shea butter until it has passed on its scent — so the scent gets into the jar through infusion, not a drop of perfume. The low temperatures are not a whim: they preserve what we want to keep in the herb. It smells like a herb garden in which someone has cut a lemon in half. We attribute nothing more to it; for us, scent is a mood and a memory, not therapy.
The butters and oils richly nourish and hydrate the skin and make it more supple — especially welcome for dry and stressed skin during the cold months. Every ingredient here has its role: shea butter forms the nourishing base, cocoa butter gives the blend body, almond and argan oil keep it spreadable. Whipping it into a foam lightens the texture, so it goes on thinly and nothing is left sitting on the surface. Spread a small amount over damp skin; on damp skin the butter spreads into a thin film and sinks in. The fluffy texture softens in the warmth, so give the jar a cooler spot out of direct sunlight.
