The damask rose is known as the queen of flowers — and its scent behaves accordingly: full, heady, unmistakably rosy. Its hydrosol is one of the classics of natural cosmetics. It is a flower water created during the distillation of rose essential oil, carrying the scent and the water-soluble components of the flower in a concentration that is kind to the skin. One bottle, three uses: a facial toner, a body refresher and a hair mist.
One bottle, three uses
- Face — a spritz after cleansing instead of a classic toner; it soothes and refreshes the skin.
- Body — a gentle rose mist at any time of day, whenever you want to be surrounded by roses for a moment.
- Hair — onto the lengths after showering; it refreshes dry ends and leaves them fragrant.
The damask rose is distilled above all for its essential oil; the flower water is created alongside it and carries the soul of the flower in a kinder concentration. That is exactly why it can be spritzed directly — onto the face, body and hair — without dilution and without a thought about dosage.
And one honest note: even a 100% natural rose scent contains allergens. They are not additives but natural components of the essential oil itself — why that is neither a flaw in the recipe nor a small scandal is explained in our article on allergens in cosmetics.
You will find a hand-engraved rose on the label beneath the spray head with its gold ring; the dark glass of the 100 ml bottle protects the contents from light, and a cooler, darker spot will help keep it fresh. After a spritz, the scent holds its full rosy notes for a while and then retreats into a gentle trace — it surrounds you and then leaves you be.
