A creamy, uncoloured mass topped with a sprinkling of dried chamomile and elderflowers — Sweet Memories looks just as soothing as it feels to wash with. The name is no accident: it is a handmade soap with no added scent or colourants that recalls childhood gentleness and peaceful mornings. We make it for the sensitive skin of children and adults.
When “less” means “better”
No added scent also means no allergens — these tend to be a natural part of essential oils, and when there are no essential oils in the recipe, they have nowhere to come from. In the soap you will find chamomile and elderflower extracts, saponified coconut, olive and sunflower oil and shea butter, which contributes to the hardness of the soap and to a rich, creamy lather. Coconut oil takes care of the cleansing power and the bubbles, while olive oil gives the lather a creamier, gentler character. No perfume, no colourants — the shade of the mass is exactly as it came out of the pot. Nothing extra, nothing without a reason: when an ingredient has no role in the recipe that we can name, it is not in the recipe. The composition is also vegan — without a single ingredient of animal origin.
Made by the cold process, cured on the shelf
Like all our soaps, this one is made by the cold process and cures for at least 30 days. We leave the glycerine that forms naturally during saponification in the mass — it is a humectant, a substance that binds water. We wire-cut every bar, so the topping and the edges are a little different each time. It is not a flaw, it is the signature of work done by hand.
To make your soap last, let it dry out between washes on a soap dish or in a soap saver bag.
