This soap got its name straight from calendula. In the original design, the whole bar is the sun: a mustard-ochre soap mass with flowers showing through, and the entire top covered with a dense layer of golden calendula flowers. Calendula is one of the few flowers that do not turn brown in soap — which is why you can actually see it on the finished bar. The scent is fresh and citrus-herbal: sunshine on the shelf even on a grey morning.
These are the last bars of the original recipe in the original design. Like all our soaps, it was made by the cold process, the scent comes from pure essential oils and the glycerine that forms during saponification stays in the soap mass. The current Sun Rays carries on in a new look.
After the shower, treat it to a soap dish that lets the water drain away. You will find the same summery mood in the Sun Rays essential oil blend.
