COFFEE IS LOVE

For everyone whose day only starts after the first cup. Three coffee layers — from dark roast through nut-brown to sand — and, pressed into the corner, a coffee bean that is the genuine article. A sweet gourmand coffee scent turns the shower into a small ritual worth getting up for.

Why coffee and salt?

Each has its own job. Finely ground sea salt right in the mass makes the soap exceptionally hard and turns the lather creamier — fewer bubbles do not mean less washing, just a different character. Ground coffee, in turn, works as a gentle invigorating scrub — you feel it on the skin more than you see it. And a coffee tip from the workshop: morning, not evening.

The recipe is unusual beneath the surface too: saponified coconut oil is complemented by black cumin seed oil and cupuaçu butter, both cold-pressed, and cocoa fine-tunes the colour. The glycerine that forms naturally during saponification stays in the soap. It is vegan, made by the cold process and wire-cut — so the layers sit a little differently on every bar.

Salt soaps give long service if you let them dry out — ideally on a soap dish that drains; a permanent stay in a puddle is not one of their hobbies.
