Salt Laurel did not get its moss-green colour out of a paintbox but from green chlorella algae. It smells of laurel — herbal, clean and a little woody, like an early-evening walk through a grove. The simple composition takes the lead here: coconut and olive oil, oil from the berries of the bay laurel, sea salt and chlorella. Nothing extra, nothing without a reason.
It is an honest salt soap, so it is suitably firm. Finely ground sea salt gives it both hardness and staying power, and the lather is creamy rather than airy — with salt, that is the physics of the recipe, not a shortcoming. A fresh feeling remains after rinsing. It is vegan and has cured for at least 30 days.
