SCENT OF PROVENCE

A deep purple body, a cream top and a sprinkling of dried lavender flowers — a piece of southern France that fits on a bathroom shelf. Scent of Provence is a lavender soap with the gentle exfoliating effect of dried flowers and real lavender essential oil you will recognise at the first sniff.

Lavender that is not just on the label

The dried flowers are right there on the bar, and the scent comes from pure essential oil — no fragrance blend, only what nature distilled from the plant. It is a scent with a memory: it brings back purple fields even if you have never been to Provence. Lavender flower is our most common botanical ingredient of all, and we source our herbs from Slovakia and the Czech Republic — so only your imagination travels to France.

One honest note about the exfoliation: during the first wash or two, the dried flowers can feel a little rough. Once they soak up water and soften, it turns into a very gentle scrub — no gritting of teeth, more of a pleasant full stop to the shower.

The base of the recipe is saponified olive and coconut oil, castor oil holds the lather together and beeswax makes it supple — the only ingredient of animal origin in our soap workshop. That is why Scent of Provence is not one of our vegan soaps, and we say so plainly. Just as plainly: lavender essential oil naturally carries allergens. Between washes, let the soap dry out thoroughly on a soap dish — a dry bar lasts longer and the flowers on top stay flowers, not mush. In its paper box it will please any lavender lover. You will find more bars with herbs from Slovakia and Czechia among our herbal soaps.
