Most of us know chamomile from a mug rather than from cosmetics: a golden meadow behind the house, tea at Grandma's, a scent that slows the world down. Chamomile hydrosol — a floral water produced when chamomile essential oil is distilled — carries this side of the herb into a spray bottle. It is a gentle facial and body toner that refreshes and soothes the skin, and it is so mild that it serves the whole family, children's skin included.
One hydrosol for the whole family
A hydrosol carries the plant's components dissolved in water in a mild concentration — which is exactly why it can be used directly on the skin, without diluting and without counting drops. Chamomile hydrosol is as gentle as chamomile tea: spritz it on your face after washing, on your hands and on any spot that could do with a moment's peace.
The scent is herbal, not floral-sweet — exactly as you remember it from the mug. So in the evening it comes into its own outside the bathroom too: a few spritzes in the children's room or on the pillow, and the air smells like Grandma's. We promise nothing more from the scent — and nothing more is needed.
If you are only just discovering hydrosols, chamomile makes a good first introduction. Nothing stings, nothing smells forced, and one bottle takes care of your face, hands and bedroom — so it runs out before it has a chance to become ordinary.
The 100 ml bottle is made of dark glass that keeps the light out, and you will recognise the product on the white label by the delicate drawing of a chamomile flower with its petals. Store somewhere cool and dark; that way the floral water stays fresh for longer.
