Sometimes all it takes is a small thing that pleases the eye. Black lace lies on a honey-gold base — a pattern like a hand-crocheted doily, drawn not by thread but by activated charcoal right in the soap itself. Beneath the ornament is an honest vegan soap with a creamy lather that washes skin gently. A little piece of beauty you pick up every morning.
Charcoal lace
The ornament is drawn by activated charcoal and a hand, not a printer — and since the soap mass always has a bit of a life of its own in the mould and we cut every bar with a wire, no two pieces of lace are identical. Not perfectly alike, and that is intentional, not an oversight. The recipe beneath the design is our classic: six saponified oils and butters, from coconut and olive oil to cocoa butter and almond oil; the cold process; deliberate superfatting — some of the oils stay unsaponified so the soap does not cleanse more than it should — and at least 30 days of curing on the shelf. What superfatting means in practice is explained in our journal.
Delicate as it looks, it is not a decoration for a glass cabinet — it is a proper soap for everyday washing, built to get wet. Its creamy lather comes from the ratio of oils in the recipe, not from added foaming agents — those have no place in our soaps. And since there is no ingredient of animal origin in the recipe, it will happily please vegans too. With looks like these, A Little Tenderness is a popular little gift for special occasions and a favour for wedding guests — it is pretty even before you unwrap it, so wrapping paper is rather optional. Like our whole range, it is made in our workshop in Prievidza. To keep the lace looking its best for as long as possible, let the soap dry between washes on a soap dish that drains.
