A petrol-blue soap with a green tree along its side and the wish Veselé Vianoce (Merry Christmas) written right into the soap itself. This vegan Christmas soap smells exactly as December should: fir, orange, cinnamon, star anise and lemongrass make up a citrus-spicy scent that fills the bathroom with Advent.

A tree that stands differently in every bar

We wire-cut the soap by hand, so every tree shows its green in a slightly different place and a slightly different way — just as in a real forest. They are not perfectly identical bars but bars with a character of their own. We admit it on purpose. And because the wish is written into the soap itself, not printed on the packaging, you hardly need to sign the gift — the message is already on it.

We compose the scent exclusively from essential oils and tune it so that it stays fragrant even after weeks of curing, not just in a fresh batch. Fir brings the needles, orange the juicy heart, cinnamon and star anise the warmth and lemongrass a fresh edge — Advent without the vanilla kitsch.

The recipe is vegan and palm-oil-free, with an oil ratio set for a rich, creamy lather and with glycerine we did not buy — it formed right there as the oils saponified and we left it in. Before packing, every bar then rests on the shelf for at least 30 days — we explain why we allow ourselves that time in our article on why soap cures.

In its paper box, it makes a thoughtful little gift for under the tree, for a parcel or for a visitor who drops by between Christmas and New Year and leaves smelling better than when they arrived. Between washes, give it a soap dish or a soap saver bag so it lasts the whole festive season — from St Nicholas Day right through to Epiphany.
