The same ornamental relief as its white sister, but this time dipped in a dusty grey-blue glaze with a fine speckle at the edges. The colour recalls a morning sky or a faded old tile and brings a calm, almost meditative mood to the bathroom.
Beneath the decoration, the tried-and-tested mechanics of a ceramic soap dish are at work: two openings drain water, so the soap stays dry and is used up more slowly, and raised edges keep it in place. The pattern and shade make the dish a small design accent — but first and foremost it lets the soap dry out properly. The fine speckle at the edges is not a flaw but the natural handwriting of the glaze — the signature of work done by hand.
Give it a dry spot a little away from the water, and now and then empty it and wipe it. At 12.5 × 9 cm it is one of our roomier soap dishes. Because the glaze is applied by hand, every piece has a slightly different shade and pattern. Not perfectly alike — and that is the intention.
The cool blue goes well with the On the Waves soap or other cold-process soaps — and paired with its white sister, it gives you a small collection on the shelf.
