Sometimes a day just goes wrong, and the best therapy is two honest words: shit happens. This candle has them proudly set on a black tin — no embellishment, just a forgiving smile at the fact that life is like that too. You light it, breathe out and suddenly it is not so bad.

Behind that calm is honest work: hand-poured soy wax and a cotton wick, which together last a pleasantly long time and burn down without soot or greasy smoke. You set the mood with a scent of your choice — citrus freshness, fruit punch, sweet gourmand notes, woody Palo Santo or warming spice; and if you prefer quiet without scent, that is possible too.

The first burn is the most important — let the wax melt all the way to the edge so that it then burns nice and evenly, and trim the wick as you go. In a kraft box, it is ready to cheer up anyone who is having one of “those” days.
