SHAMPOO BAR DISH – Glamour

A little theatre for the bathroom — hand-painted coffee-brown spirals swirl across a cream background, giving this ceramic shampoo bar dish a baroque, almost jewellery-box feel. Every brushstroke is different, as tends to be the case with handwork from the Keramika Greško workshop.

Beneath the decoration is a practical stand: it keeps the shampoo bar raised off the bottom and dry, protects it from going soggy and so makes it last as long as possible. A bar that has dried keeps its firm shape and is not used up needlessly — it is meant to dissolve in your hair, not at the bottom of a dish. It suits both sizes of our shampoo bars as well as a classic soap — both do best when they can dry out between uses.

The glossy glaze wipes clean easily and the painting beneath it will not fade — just clear off the soap residue from time to time. A small foot holds the dish firmly in place so it does not wander off.
