You choose the scent by the mood of the day, not by what is in fashion: from fresh citrus through fruit to the warm woody notes of Palo Santo. The creamy soy wax burns cleanly and without soot, so you get calm light and a pleasant trail of scent at once — and when it has burnt down, the tin can carry on being useful.

One rule is worth keeping here, too: the first time you light it, give it enough time for the melted wax to reach the edge of the tin — otherwise the candle gets used to a narrow circle and will tunnel down the middle. Trim the wick before every lighting after that and the flame will stay calm.
