We built this shampoo bar for a sensitive scalp on leaving things out. No colourants, no pattern, not even a scent — just a snow-white, smooth bar that washes hair thoroughly and leaves the scalp alone. Cleaning is done by mild surfactants derived from coconut oil, surface-active substances with a gentler action than classic soap. And although the formula is sparing, the lather is not: it develops rich and soft and nourishes the hair as it washes.
On purpose. Even a 100% natural scent from essential oils carries natural allergens — and skin that reacts to everything feels best without them. So we left it completely clean: no essential oils, no colourants, nothing that could provoke a reaction. The formula is vegan, so there is nothing to worry about. Even the fussiest at home will get along with it.
The base is not soap mass but surfactants with a pH that is kinder to hair. In practice that means one thing: no vinegar or lemon rinse is needed after washing. Run it over wet hair a few times, massage the lather into the scalp with your fingers and rinse with clean water. Done.
Between washes, give it a dish that drains — a bar that dries out lasts considerably longer. The smaller format is a reliable travel companion, and in its recycled paper box it makes a lovely gift. I've been using Musk shampoos for quite a while now and have tried several of them. I have a fairly sensitive scalp, so I tried this one too. After the first wash my scalp and hair felt much better straight away, above all the unpleasant itching stopped. After a while I also got rid of dandruff and I don't have to wash my hair as often (1-2 times a week max.). Overall I highly recommend the shampoo, but after roughly 2 months of use it started drying my hair out a little, so I decided to go back to the Musk shampoo to support hair growth, which always left my hair beautifully shiny too. Either way, I'm never going back to high-street shampoos, because these shampoos are amazing and have rid me of many hair problems!
