How many make-up remover pads end up in the bin in a year? Best not to count. This set of crocheted make-up remover pads sends them into retirement: five hand-crocheted pieces made of 100% cotton, each in a different cheerful colour — cream, lime, white and turquoise — tied with jute twine like a little gift.
They are gentle on skin and eyes alike and reusable — instead of a pile of disposable cotton wool, they will serve you for months on end. After removing your make-up, you rinse the pad by hand or toss it in the washing machine at 40 °C and it is as good as new. Less waste, less shopping and more room on the bathroom shelf.
They work best with a little moisture: dampen them with water or a hydrosol, or add a drop of your favourite oil. The colours also help you tell which one is “for the eyes” and which is for the rest of the face. Every piece is crocheted by hand, so the stitches are not machine-identical — and that is how it should be.
